Bojan Schmidt

Bojan Schmidt graduated in Telecommunications and Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Zagreb, and completed postgraduate specialist studies in Business Management (MBA) at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. He started working at the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNET in 2005 in the Network Infrastructure Department. Since then, he worked as a Project Manager, Head of Network Services, and led the department responsible for building and maintaining the CARNET network and OSS/BSS monitoring and provisioning systems. From 2017 to 2023 he was Deputy CEO for the Network Infrastructure Department. Major projects in which he participated as a member or leader were: e-Schools: Development of the system of digitally mature schools, GÉANT project, Croatian Scientific and Educational Cloud (HR-ZOO), Establishment of CARNET network operations center, Content filtering for schools, Connecting CARNET member institutions, Connecting individual AAI users, E-Islands, E-Split. Since 2023 he has been working as a Head of the Application and Technology Integration Service in the Artificial Intelligence Sector and as a project leader for CroQCI (Croatian Quantum Communication Infrastructure).
