Vlatka Marčan
Deputy CEO and the Head of National Coordination Centre for Industry, Technology and Research in Cybersecurity
Vlatka Marčan is an expert in strategic planning and programming, with more than 16 years of experience in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of programs and projects financed from various sources. After graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in English and Italian language and literature, she completed an interdisciplinary master's degree in European studies at the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium. She started her career in 2008, in the Central State Office for Development Strategy and EU Funds, where from the very beginning she was involved in the establishment of the Management and Control System for the use of EU funds as well as pre-accession negotiations with the European Commission in the area of regional policy. In the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, she worked on the preparation of programming documents within the framework of the European Structural and Investment Funds. She has worked in CARNET since 2015, and from 2020 to 2024 she was the Head of the Office for EU Projects, which provides support to other departments in finding relevant sources of funding and designing new projects, but also coordinates audit and evaluation activities rounding off the entire program cycle management. In March 2024, she was appointed assistant director and head of the National Coordination Center for Industry, Technology and Research in Cybersecurity.
