Insulation test
Insulation testing of electric motors, generators and other electrical machines- Construction
Eltra MG carries out comprehensive insulation testing of electric motors, generators and other electrical machines with the aim of detecting damage in time, preventing failures and extending the service life of the equipment.
Types of insulation testing
We perform the tests using modern measuring equipment and in accordance with the applicable standards and technical requirements:
- Inter-turn insulation test with low-energy impulse voltage
Enables detection of insulation damage between winding turns that cannot be found by conventional measurements. This method is highly effective for the early detection of weak points in the insulation system. - Insulation test with high DC voltage to ground
Carried out to check the condition of the winding insulation to ground (the machine housing) and to detect possible breakdowns or degradation of the insulating material. - Insulation resistance measurement
Enables assessment of the general condition of the insulation and its resistance to moisture, contamination and material ageing. - Measurement of the absorption factor and polarisation index
By analysing the change of the insulation resistance over time, a reliable picture of the quality of the insulation system and the degree of its degradation is obtained.
Advantages of insulation testing
- Timely detection of potential faults
- Reduced risk of sudden trips and costly downtime
- Increased operating safety of electrical machines
- Extended service life of motors and generators
- A reliable basis for planning service and overhaul
The tests are carried out in the workshop and on site, before machines are put into operation, during regular maintenance or after overhaul and rewinding.
Eltra MG guarantees precise measurements, expert interpretation of the results and clear recommendations for the further use or repair of electrical machines.
